Fairmount Marine operates a fleet of five sophisticated seagoing tugs, a semi submersible barge and an anchor handling tug, serving as offshore support vessel.
Vacancy background
To manage the proper execution of Fairmount offshore projects (mainly towing and heavy transport), we now have a vacancy for a Project Manager / Contract Manager. The Project Manager / Contract Manager acts as a co-ordinator between the Client and Fairmount’s internal departments.
Responsibilities & tasks
- Responsible for the proper execution (in the most cost-efficient way) of offshore projects, after handover of the contract by the Sales Department
- Co-ordinate activities of involved internal departments (mainly Operations, QHSE, Technical Department) and subcontractors
- Project planning
- Obtain variation orders for out-of-scope activities
- Communicate with customers about the projects
- Monitors and control the financial progress of the project and ensures timely billing to customers
- Preparation of invoices as per Contract and variation orders, including follow up of payment
- Identification of required supplies, obtaining quotations for purchasing (if required by company policy through the Purchase Officer) from subcontractors or suppliers
- Assist Operations Department on ad hoc basis
- Report to the Operations Manager and CEO/Commercial Manager
- Performing an operational, costing, HSE, QA and a Customer Satisfaction review on completion of the project
Profile

- HBO Nautical Qualifications, preferably with at least 5 years experience in off shore related business
- Fluent in English (written/verbal) and Dutch
- Hands-on mentality
- Being able to handle projects with different levels of complexity (varying from one tug/simple tow to multiple tugs/complex scope/long duration/subcontractors involved)
- Good communicator
- Living within one hour’s travel from Rotterdam or prepared to move
