GREEK SALVORS TSAVLIRIS CHARTER FAIRMOUNT GLACIER FOR TOWAGE OF VOUTAKOS

Whilst mobilising from West Africa to her next port of call, Rotterdam for bunkering, FAIRMOUNT GLACIER was ordered to change course to the fully laden bulk carrier VOUTAKOS which suffered engine problems 125 miles West of Ushant. Within five hours FAIRMOUNT GLACIER reached the casualty, a vessel with a length of 294 metres, a beam of 48 metres and a draft of no less than 18 metres, with on board 175,000 tons coal. Under contract of Greek Salvors TSAVLIRIS Fairmount's 205 tons bollard pull super tug is towing the VOUTAKOS to Rotterdam with a voyage speed of 8 knots.

After delivery of VOUTAKOS in Rotterdam FAIRMOUNT GLACIER will proceed to Invergordon to commence the towage of semi-submersible drilling rig FRONTIER DRILLER to Pascagoula, USA.
