Drydocking Large Objects

Besides the Heavy Lift Transportation, Fairmount Marine is active in the field of Drydocking Large Objects, mainly offshore installations. The major advantage of using a barge instead of an old fashion Drydock, is the ability of bringing the Drydock facility to the Object, instead of bringing the Object to the Drydock facility! The latter being a time consuming exercise and overall a costly exercise, especially for remote locations where no large Drydock facilities are available.

In comparison with semi-submersible vessels, a semi-submersible barge comes at a substantial lower day-rate. Given the normal duration of larger Drydock operations, the day rate of the Drydock facility is a major factor in the overall cost price. Furthermore Fairmount Marine can deliver all additional Marine services, which are needed for Drydocking, such as but not limited to Towing tugs, Marine type of Engineering, etc.
